Another school bus crash
Today, our City awakens to the news of another school bus crash. A school bus flipped over on its side and there are reports of injuries.
School buses carry the most precious commodity our society can have, our children.
"Over the years, we have represented a number of children, who were injured in school bus accidents and what we have learned is that driver training is lacking in some bus companies," said Bernie Smalley, a shareholder at the Philadelphia law firm of Anapol Schwartz. "Most recently, was the case of a valiant young girl suffered a terrible injury, her hand was amputated when an out of control school bus flipped over. What we learned in that case was that driver for a major school bus company was under trained."
Parents of children who travel on school buses should not assume that every driver is fully trained with regular safety refresher courses and should insist that their schools only contract with companies who use the highest recommended safety training programs .
