Johnson & Johnson (J &J) issued a voluntary hip replacement recall involving the DePuy ASR metal-on-metal hip implant in 2010 due to a high early failure rate. Many Patients required a revision surgery after being diagnosed with metal poisoning caused by the device fretting and corroding inside the body.  People who received another metal-on-metal DePuy implant- Pinnacle- experienced similar problems. Rather than issue another DePuy recall, J & J announced in August 2013 that it would discontinue sale of the metal-on-metal Pinnacle.

Although there has been no Pinnacle hip replacement recall, recipients of this faulty metal hip can still file a DePuy hip replacement lawsuit to seek compensation.

Patients who received the metal-on-metal model of the Pinnacle hip may be eligible to file a DePuy Pinnacle lawsuit if they were diagnosed with metallosis and were required to undergo revision surgery.

If this happened to you or a loved one, contact a lawyer to find out if you are eligible to file a Pinnacle hip replacement lawsuit.
